Magnum Akito Wakizashi

'Purity, discipline and humility were hallmarks of the storied samurai. In homage to these warriors of feudal Japan, Boker introduces the Magnum Akito Wakizashi. Traditionally carried by respected members of society, the short sword proved especially effective in close-quarters combat. The blade, forged from non-stainless carbon steel, features a traditional bo-hi (hollow groove). The wooden handle is finished with a decorative tsuba (hand guard), menuki (ornaments beneath the wrap) and a black tsuka-ito (handle wrap). A black lacquered wooden saya (scabbard) with a sageo cord allows the sword to be attached to the belt. Because the blade is sharpened, it can be used for tameshigiri (cutting tests) to hone handling skills.'
