The Dönges Basic series is intentionally sized like a conventional pocketknife, making it suitable for everyday carry and general cutting tasks. In an emergency it serves as a professional rescue tool, always on hand when needed. All three models share key features: anodized 6061 aircraft-grade aluminum handle scales with a non-slip Dönges honeycomb texture; blades of durable 440A stainless steel with a biting half-shaft and ball-bearing pivots; a glass breaker; a belt cutter; and a sturdy steel clip for tip-down/right-side carry. The Basic series firefighter knife has a universal spearpoint blade that can be opened with either a finger flipper or a thumb stud. The 6061 aluminum scales are anodized firefighter red.
