Founded in 1986 in Washington State, the company takes its name from a US Army special unit responsible for covert operations; SOG originally stood for "Studies and Observation Group." To meet the exacting demands of elite units, all SOG knives are designed for the toughest conditions. The legendary SOG Vietnam Bowie is a classic that defined a generation of knives. Its robust blade is made from AUS-8 steel with a titanium-nitride coating, making it significantly more corrosion-resistant than the blades of the first models. The wide guard, subtly contoured finger grooves in the leather handle, and lanyard hole ensure maximum operational suitability. The knife is supplied with a sturdy leather sheath that includes a front pouch and a sharpening stone.
