The Chaparral series from Spyderco is known for its variety of handle materials and surface treatments, consistently living up to its reputation as a refined gentleman’s folder. The newest member of this collection features precision-crafted red “Dark Matter” fatcarbon carbon fiber scales. Made by fatcarbon Materials in Lithuania, these scales are produced from recycled carbon fiber, bio-based epoxy resin, and organic pigments, then forged under high pressure and heat to create a remarkably strong, lightweight, and chemical-resistant material with a striking, complex appearance. The beautiful scales enhance the Chaparral’s proven features: a fully flat-ground, satin-finished CTS XHP stainless steel blade; a fully accessible thumb hole for ambidextrous one-handed opening; a reliable back-lock; and a reversible deep-carry wire clip for discreet left- or right-side carry.
