Besides historic city centers, landmarks known beyond their regions and long traditions as important trading hubs, they are home to outstanding cutlery retailers who have earned their reputations through wide selections and exceptional expertise.\n\nWe drew on their decades of experience, deep know-how and finely tuned everyday sense for the needs of cooking and kitchen enthusiasts when developing the Boker Core series, together with our nearly 150 years of experience as a Solingen knife manufactory. The result is a knife collection with dynamic lines, excellent handling and impressive cutting performance that has been rated "recommended by leading retailers."\n\nEach blade begins as a solid slug of chromium-molybdenum-vanadium alloy (X50CrMoV15), hand-forged in Solingen, structurally optimized and hardened to 58 HRC. A traditional hand grind is then highly polished to extend blade life and refine the edge. The forged bolster provides a secure grip and helps protect the user in the event of a slip. A distinctive feature across the series is the gently rounded spine, which makes the knives comfortable to use in any hand position and prevents pressure points even when applying force, as during a rocking chop. Beautifully patterned, perfectly proportioned walnut handles complete the cohesive, attractive design.\n\nThe bread knife is distinguished by its special serration and long blade, making it ideal not only for bread but also for other firm foods; unlike classic kitchen knives, it slices these items cleanly without crushing them.'
