'What do Trier, Wiesbaden, Münster and Lüneburg have in common? Beyond their historic centers, landmark attractions and long traditions as important trading cities, they are also home to outstanding steelware retailers who have earned their reputations through broad selections and expert knowledge. We tapped into their decades of experience and everyday understanding of cooks’ needs during development of the Boker Core series, and combined that insight with our nearly 150 years as a Solingen knife manufactory.\n\nThe result is a knife line with dynamic styling, excellent balance and exceptional cutting performance, awarded the quality rating "recommended by leading retailers." Each blade begins as a solid blank of chromium–molybdenum–vanadium steel (X50CrMoV15), a material ideally suited for premium kitchen knives. The blades are hand-forged in Solingen, structurally optimized, hardened to 58 HRC and then given a finely polished traditional hand grind for greater durability and a sharper edge.\n\nA forged bolster provides a secure grip and helps protect the hand if a slip occurs. A distinctive feature across the series is the gently rounded spine, which makes the knives comfortable to use in any grip and prevents pressure points on the hand—even when applying strong force for a rocking chop. The ergonomically proportioned synthetic handles complete the design, offering high moisture resistance and suitability for professional kitchens.
