Helle based the blade’s profile on classic European chef’s knives and the Japanese santoku, combining tradition with modern functionality; the full flat grind makes the Dele a versatile and powerful kitchen tool. The ergonomically shaped handle, crafted from curly birch and inspired by Helle’s rounded outdoor-knife grips, displays unique wood grain and benefits from birch’s natural antibacterial properties—practical for everyday kitchen use. A flat bolster between handle and blade ensures excellent control for tasks like finely chopping onions or vegetables. The standard Dele includes a custom-fit leather sheath, ideal for safe storage and transport, whether in a kitchen drawer, a rucksack on a hike, or on culinary journeys.
