'According to Norse legend, the dwarf Dvalin forged the necklace Brisingamen for Freya, the Germanic goddess of love. The necklace is linked in mythology to magic and love, but also to sorrow; Freya’s tears in the heavens were said to ensure abundant harvests on earth. At times, however, Odin’s wrath drove the goddess to provoke conflicts among humans. Inspired by Nordic forging traditions, Dirk Hofmeister of Midgard’s Knives created a pocket-knife version of the Little Dvalin. The compact Dvalin Folder Tanto features a drop-point D2 blade mounted on ball bearings, finished in a restrained stonewash with pronounced hollow grooves on both sides that serve as nail nicks. Jimping on the blade spine provides a secure thumb rest for demanding cuts. A well-shaped G10 handle and a partially serrated blade ensure a confident grip and cutting performance. A stainless-steel framelock is hidden along the back of the handle to reliably secure the blade. The tip-up right-side clip matches the handle texture, and a lanyard hole improves carry convenience.
