'The kerambit is a utility knife originating from the Malay-Indonesian archipelago. The finger ring at the handle’s end was first documented in the 11th century. Its curved, crescent-shaped blade is still used today by fishermen and gardeners. The ring enables hands-free use and reduces the risk of losing the knife, while in modern times it’s often employed in martial arts—such as Pencak Silat and Filipino Kali—where the knife can be rotated around the small finger. Ernest Emerson played a key role in the kerambit’s modern revival and patented the Emerson Wave, a small hook on the blade’s spine that helps the blade open automatically when drawn from the pocket. The FKMD Folding Kerambit features an N690 steel blade with a black coating, opens via thumb stud or Emerson Wave, and is secured by a robust liner lock. The textured G10 handle scales and ergonomic design ensure a secure grip. Includes a tip-up, right-side pocket clip.'
