Designed by Col. Rex Applegate, the original Boker Smatchet was created as a large combat knife that also works well as a versatile outdoor tool, though its size makes it less comfortable to carry. The new Boker Plus Pocket Smatchet by Chuck Gedraitis adapts the iconic design into a practical pocket-knife format. Gedraitis, an American custom knifemaker since age 16, has earned multiple awards for his innovative pocket knife designs. This robust Pocket Smatchet features a VG-10 spearpoint blade with a durable stonewash finish. A removable thumb stud on the spine allows ambidextrous opening, and a solid linerlock secures the blade. A decorative fuller flows into non-slip green canvas micarta handle scales that, with fine texturing, offer a sure grip. The sturdy tip-up, right-side clip is milled from solid stock and echoes the classic Smatchet’s distinctive indentations. Includes a lanyard hole and a high-quality nylon storage pouch.
