'The Swiss dagger was a common sidearm of 15th- and 16th-century Swiss pikemen, occupying a middle ground between dagger and sword because of its blade length. Also known as the Baselard, it was typically not issued as standard military equipment and had to be purchased privately by soldiers as a secondary weapon. Its distinctive curved pommel and crossguard trace back to the early 13th century and are reproduced in this handcrafted edition. The handle is made from hand-selected local cherry wood, long prized for its warm reddish hue. The double-edged blade tapers to a point and features a diamond-shaped cross-section like the historical models, a profile valued for its strength and effectiveness. Forged from C75 carbon steel, the blade is notable for its impressive length. Each piece carries a logo and individual serial number to certify authenticity and consistent production quality. Supplied with an ornate metal sheath and handmade at the Boker Knife Manufactory in Solingen.'
