Boker Tirpitz-Damast Wood

'For years many customers have admired our collectible Boker Tirpitz-Damascus knife. Its success inspired us to create a new model that also features the historic Damascus steel. The Boker Tirpitz-Damast Wood measures approximately 10 mm in thickness and has a slimmer, flatter profile. Its elegant lines are complemented by full-length domestic walnut scales; the matte wooden, contoured scales are CNC-milled in a three-dimensional pattern. The Tirpitz coat of arms and name are proudly displayed on the front.\n\nThe Tirpitz, sister ship to the legendary Bismarck, was the largest battleship commissioned by the German Navy. After World War II a Norwegian company recovered parts of the ship’s wreck off the Norwegian coast to repurpose the highly alloyed steel for civilian use. Norwegian divers retrieved sections of the Tirpitz’s armor specifically for Boker. Our Damascus smith used these historic pieces to forge an exclusive, exceptional steel with a remarkable provenance.\n\nThe blade is hand-forged Damascus showing the "Great Pyramid" pattern in 300 layers, making this knife a standout for any collection. Combining Tirpitz steel with carbon tool steel yields an especially durable Damascus with a Rockwell hardness of 61–63 HRC, suitable for everyday tasks. The blade is secured by a 1.5 mm liner lock and opens with a removable thumbstud; it includes a tip-up clip. The knife is supplied in a high-quality transparent frame case with a certificate and serial number.'
