TOPS Knives X16 Ginunting

Filipino culture — where martial arts and practical blades intersect — has a long tradition that includes the well-known ginunting. This sturdy weapon likely evolved from the binangon, a multipurpose farm and garden tool. Adam Boyce, aka Spartan Mode, an Idaho resident and close TOPS collaborator, contacted the company in 2018 seeking a spot on the Forged in Fire spinoff Knife or Death. Although he became an alternate and did not compete, TOPS prototyped the X16 Ginunting for potential use on the show. Years later, while sorting through boxes of older prototypes, TOPS rediscovered that ginunting and decided to produce it as a standard fixed-blade model. Its hefty 1095 steel blade is ideal for chopping and bushcraft tasks, reflecting the knife’s agricultural roots, and it ships with ergonomic Micarta handle scales and a form-fitting Kydex sheath.
