Magnum Akito

'The Magnum Akito is a true functional sword, suitable not only for kata and iaito practice but also for tameshigiri (cutting tests). For cutting work you need a very high-quality, sharp blade that holds its edge; the Akito’s blade is clay-hardened 1045 carbon steel with a genuine hamon (temper line). The construction is very robust: the tang extends nearly to the end of the handle and is fixed with two mekugi pins. The sword comes with a beautifully lacquered wooden scabbard (saya) fitted with traditional fittings, including the kurigata and shito-dome.'
