The knives feature wooden handles that house a traditional locking system: a rotating ring set into a brass collar that secures the blade both open and closed. Todesco (Maniago, Italy), the project’s active partner, originally patented this twist-lock mechanism for pocketknives in 1985. As an addition to the Old Bear line, the Bill Hook model uses the blade of a traditional gardener’s billhook, making it a practical tool for gardening and plant maintenance. It pairs a sturdy walnut handle with the brass collar and twist lock, and a curved handle end for safe drag cutting.'
