'When we developed the new fixed outdoor knife Boker Bronco, we set ambitious objectives: to reach the cutting edge of technical possibilities and deliver optimal functionality for today’s needs. The knife was intended to be universally useful for professional outdoor users—bushcrafters, campcrafters, survivalists, long-distance hikers, hunters, SAR teams and similar—while remaining affordably priced and entirely made in Solingen, Germany.\n\nTo meet these goals we chose CPM-3V, a powder-metallurgical steel from Crucible Industries known for exceptional shock resistance, toughness and splinter resistance, together with outstanding edge retention. Heat-treated to about 61±1 HRC and alloyed with roughly 7.5% chromium, it offers improved wear resistance and hardenability while maintaining a fine microstructure.\n\nThe blade is a broad drop-point with a high saber grind—a versatile shape long favored by hunters for both delicate tasks like feathering wood and heavy work like batoning. The blade’s full tang runs continuously through the handle and protrudes a few millimeters past the butt, providing maximum strength and allowing the knife to withstand hard blows. A short section of the spine is ground to sharp 90° edges on both sides for reliably producing sparks with the included firestarter.\n\nThe handle is molded from TPE (thermoplastic elastomer) which fully encapsulates the tang. TPE delivers a secure, non-slip grip in all orientations, remains comfortable during prolonged use, resists wear, and has low thermal conductivity so it doesn’t draw heat from your hand in cold conditions. Compared with conventional elastomers, TPE’s production is physically based and avoids the energy-intensive vulcanization process, reducing environmental impact.\n\nThe knife comes with a high-quality quiver-style leather sheath that holds the blade deep and securely without a potentially failure-prone locking mechanism, protecting the knife from loss and damage while allowing quick access. A removable dangler gives the option of carrying high on the belt or low beneath a hip belt. Integrated into the sheath piping is a snug leather loop holding a 9.3 cm Swedish FireSteel (Bio Army Slatyblack) from Light My Fire, so a reliable firestarter is always at hand.\n\nThe Boker Bronco is thus a compact, versatile and complete wilderness and survival tool: robust, comfortable, well-equipped and made entirely in Solingen, Germany.'
