Beyond their historic centers, famous landmarks and long histories as important trading cities, they are home to outstanding steelware retailers who have earned their reputations through years of wide selection and expert knowledge. We drew on their decades of experience, deep know-how and everyday sense for the needs of cooking and kitchen enthusiasts when developing the Boker Core series, combining this input with almost 150 years of expertise as a Solingen knife manufactory. The result is a knife with dynamic lines, excellent handling and breathtaking cutting performance, honored with the quality rating "recommended by leading retailers." The blade blank is made from a chromium‑molybdenum‑vanadium alloy (X50CrMoV15), ideally suited for premium kitchen knives; it is hand-forged using Solingen craftsmanship, structurally optimized and hardened to 58 HRC. To extend the blade’s service life and refine its cutting ability, the traditional hand grind is highly polished. A forged bolster provides a secure grip and protects the user in case of a slip, while a gently rounded spine—a distinctive feature of this series—makes the knife comfortable to use in any position and prevents pressure points on the hand, even when applying strong force for tasks like a rocking chop. Elegantly patterned and well-proportioned walnut handles complete the cohesive, attractive design.
