Boker Cottage-Craft Office Knife

'Since the 14th century, the Kotten—traditional farm cottages—have shaped the history of Solingen, the city of blades. Heavy grindstones were powered by water and world-renowned blades were honed by hand. The Boker Cottage-Craft chef’s knife series continues this heritage, using carefully chosen classic materials. Notably it features high-carbon (non-stainless) C75 steel, which develops a characteristic blue-grey patina after a short time in use. The handle scales are made from locally sourced plum wood: hard, dense and fine-pored, with an even grain and striking color variations. In keeping with Solingen’s centuries-old knifemaking tradition, the scales are mounted on the blade’s full tang with solid brass rivets. The Office Knife is a handy hybrid of chef’s and paring knife—perfect for peeling and cutting fruits and vegetables and for trimming small portions of fish and meat.
