'The success of the Worksharp sharpeners shows how effectively US-based Darex creates new ideas for knife sharpening. Their Guided Sharpening System (GSS) brings Darex innovation to manual sharpeners. In addition to Darex’s usual angle guide, the GSS features a sharpening surface that pivots along its length. That lets the stone automatically follow the blade’s edge angle so the user does not have to adjust the holding angle while moving the blade; the blade is kept at a right angle to the sharpening direction regardless of edge angle. This straight-line pivoting action makes it much easier to maintain a consistent edge angle than with a rigid system, so even less experienced users can produce a razor-sharp edge. The stone can also be locked to disable the pivot. The unit has rubber feet for stability. It includes exchangeable diamond stones in 320 and 600 grit for roughing and finishing, plus a ceramic insert with three surfaces (fine, coarse, groove) for recurve blades, serrations and similar profiles. Angle ramps for 17° and 20° provide fixed starting positions. Angle ramps and sharpening stones can be swapped in seconds without tools. Manufacturer’s warranty: 3 years (replacement parts excluded).
