'Utility knives with a ring at the end of the handle have been used in Southeast Asia since the 11th century; the ring lets you work hands-free without setting the knife down, reducing the risk of loss. The 599 XT has an N690 steel blade with a black coating that deploys via a wave opener and is secured by a backlock plus an additional secondary lock for extra safety.
