'Gerrit and Andy, better known as "Naturensöhne" (Sons of Nature), inspire over 490,000 YouTube followers with entertaining bushcraft, camping, hiking and gear-test content. More than two years ago we began collaborating with the two Berliners to develop their own Naturensöhne knife. Their nomination for episode 3 of the popular YouTube format 7 vs. Wild — where teams must survive in the wilderness with gear they choose themselves — raised the project’s demands: all equipment had to fit inside a 1 L Nalgene bottle, forcing a complete rethink of the dimensions for a rugged outdoor knife.\n\nThe result is the Naturensöhne MK. I, a special edition of our successful outdoor/bushcraft model, the Böker Bronco. The full-size handle fully encloses the full tang to ensure an excellent hand position and secure grip, while the blade is engineered to deliver what matters most during uncompromising outdoor use in a 14-day Canadian wilderness: outstanding edge retention, tolerance to shock loads, resistance to fracture and shattering. These properties come from the powder-metallurgical CPM 3V steel and a premium Hardur coating, applied at approximately 5 µm thickness and covering the cutting edge. The coating significantly extends blade life and reduces surface friction.\n\nAs true Scandi lovers, the Sons of Nature opted for a classic Scandi grind. Its extremely sharp bevel needs no secondary edge, excels at batoning and cleaving because the full blade thickness is preserved through roughly two-thirds of the blade height, and the resulting greater mass improves chopping performance compared with a flat grind. The handle is made from thermoplastic TPE, providing virtually indestructible durability, a secure ergonomic grip, and safe handling in both dry and wet conditions. The package is completed by a compact Kydex sheath with an included Ulticlip, ensuring the knife is reliably carried.\n\nFully made in the Böker Manufactory Solingen.
