Since 1977 the Helle Nying has been a steadfast belt companion — a knife that has earned awards for its distinctive, classic design and occasionally divided opinion. More than a million have been produced. The generously sized handle provides a secure grip and precise blade control, while a subtle finger recess keeps the hand safely positioned even when working near the edge. The Nying is made for deliberate, slow work — ideal for carving and lingering tasks. It comes in an elegant leather sheath with a flame-shaped cutout; a retaining strap folds over the pommel to lock it in place. Using the traditional Norwegian leather carrying system, the knife hangs loosely from the belt and is always within reach.
