Provoke First Responder

The CRKT Provoke, designed by Joe Caswell, takes folding knives into a new realm with its unique Kinematic mechanism. Instead of pivoting on a single axis, the hawkbill blade is mounted on two moving arms and swings out parallel to the handle before locking into position. The karambit-style lock is released by a lever recessed into the handle, making operation simple, intuitive, fast and safe. The handle scales are machined from 6061 T6 aluminum, while the blade is 5.3 mm thick D2 steel with a titanium nitride coating. The round pocket clip stays out of the way during use but can be disengaged from its parked position with a fingertip to stow the knife. The Provoke’s distinctive concept shows that fundamental innovation in folding knives is still possible. The Provoke First Responder model adds a glass breaker and a Boltaron sheath — a heat-treated synthetic made in the United States — and the knife is also offered with a Kydex sheath plus two different mounting clips or belt adapters for various carry options.
