Today the Seenotretter offer one of the world’s most modern and professional rescue services, with the rapid and effective saving of human lives as their primary objective. To remain free from outside influence and other interests, the service has maintained its independence from public funding and relies solely on voluntary donations. Most rescues—often carried out at great personal risk—are performed by volunteer sea rescuers.\n\nFor these offshore professionals, Boker developed the Boker Plus Seenotretter 01 knife to meet the demanding requirements of the job.
