'A piece of history brought to life: the Tirpitz, sister ship to the legendary Bismarck, was the largest battleship ever launched by the German Navy. Commissioned in February 1941, she quickly became a constant threat to Allied navies in the North Atlantic. After repeated attempts to destroy her, the Tirpitz was badly damaged by British Royal Air Force attacks in September 1944 and stationed off Tromsø, Norway. On November 12, 1944, she was struck by Tallboy bombs and capsized in shallow water.\n\nShortly after WWII, a specialized Norwegian company salvaged high-alloy steel from the wreck for civilian use. Researchers were particularly interested in this material for measurement technology development and even aerospace applications. Norwegian divers recovered sections of the Tirpitz’s special armor for Boker, and these historic fragments have been exclusively forged into exceptional Damascus steel by our Damascus smith.\n\nThe blade features the “Great Pyramids” pattern of more than 300 layers on a robust 4-inch blade. Blending Tirpitz steel with carbon tool steels yields an extremely tough Damascus with a hardness of 61–63 HRC, capable of handling any cutting task. The handle is machined from high-strength AlMgSi1 aluminum (silicon-alloyed for improved quality over standard AlMg3), hardcoat anodized for durability and a secure grip. A reversible pocket clip allows both tip-up and tip-down carry. The handle inlay is domestically sourced walnut—traditionally used as rifle stock wood in Germany for its excellent properties—and bears the original Tirpitz crest.\n\nThis knife uniquely combines history, tradition, and modern technology. It is delivered in a presentation box with a certificate of authenticity and an individual serial number.'
