'A piece of history brought to life: the Tirpitz, sister ship of the famed Bismarck, was the largest battleship ever launched for the German Navy. Commissioned in February 1941, she quickly became a persistent threat to Allied naval forces in the North Atlantic. After heavy damage from RAF air attacks in September 1944, Tirpitz was anchored off the Norwegian coast near Tromsø and remained a primary target. On November 12, 1944, she was struck by special "Tallboy" bombs and capsized in shallow water.\n\nShortly after World War II, a Norwegian salvage company recovered high-alloy steel from the wreck for civilian use. Scientists valued this material for R&D in measurement technology and the aerospace industry. Norwegian divers have since retrieved sections of the Tirpitz’s special armor for Boker. These historic pieces have been exclusively forged by our Damascus smith into exceptional Damascus steel with a remarkable provenance.\n\nThe 4" blade displays the "Great Pyramids" pattern with over 300 layers, making it a standout in any collection. A blend of Tirpitz steel and carbon tool steels yields an extremely rugged Damascus with a hardness of 61–63 HRC, capable of handling demanding cutting tasks. The handle is crafted from high-strength AlMgSi1 aluminum (silicon-alloyed for higher quality than standard AlMg3), hardcoat anodized for durability and a secure grip. A reversible pocket clip allows for tip-up or tip-down carry. The handle inlay is domestic walnut—traditionally used for German rifle stocks—and features the original Tirpitz crest as a striking detail.\n\nThis knife uniquely combines history, tradition, and modern technology. It is supplied in a presentation box with a certificate of authenticity and an individual serial number.'
